2011 Great Northern Clean Up

The next Great Northern Clean Up will be held on 9-11 September 2011.

The event encourages communities, schools and businesses in northern Australia (QLD, NT, and WA) to Clean Up Australia when weather conditions are more favourable in September.

2010 Great Northern Clean Up

A big thank you to all Site Supervisors and Volunteers who participated in the 2010 Great Northern Clean Up over the weekend of 11 - 12 September.

131 Clean Up Sites were registered for the event, an increase of 77% from last year's event. Over 6,000 volunteers removed an estimated 288 tons of rubbish across Northern Australia.

State Based Results:

• NT: 24 Sites, appr. 958 volunteers, estimated 53 tonnes of rubbish removed
  
• QLD: 89 Sites, appr. 4,644 volunteers, estimated 196 tonnes of rubbish removed
  
• WA: 18 Sites, appr. 426 volunteers, estimated 39 tonnes of rubbish removed
