Competition winners have been announced!

A big thank you to everyone who submitted entries for the 2011 Clean Up Australia Day Photo and Video Competition. The Competition was created to showcase volunteer and community efforts on Clean Up Australia Day held on Sunday 6 March 2011. Winners will each receive a Clean Up Australia merchandise pack.

Photo Competition Winners

John O'Bryen, QLD

170 students participated on Clean Up Australia Day to clean up the University of Queensland St Lucia Campus.

"UQ students are proud of their campus, and Clean Up Australia Day was a nice way for us the make a positive contribution."

"As a group of post graduate students coming from many different backgrounds and nationalities, the Environmental Management and Development (EMD) team from the ANU Crawford School was very much excited to be involved in the Clean Up Australia Day event in Canberra."

Video Competition Winner

Brooke Taylor, Bentleigh West Public School, VIC

"Our video entry is documented footage from the children venturing out into the community for Clean Up Australia Day 2011. The narration was taken from our Environmental Captains during an assembly that Friday, highlighting the importance of the day - creating awareness throughout the rest of the school.

This video was compiled by the ICT monitors, and features Environmental monitors from Grades 4 to 6 all eager to help the planet and Clean Up Australia; acting locally to react globally."
