Reusing and recycling old mobile phones

Our campaign Clean Up Mobile Phones aims to reduce the environmental impact of old mobile phones.

When a mobile phone comes to the end of consumer life it doesn't necessarily mean it can't be used at all. Some phones just don't fit our way of using mobile phones anymore but are still great for others.

This is how Clean Up Mobile Phones keeps the impact of your old phone low:
We return it to our recycling partner, Aussie Recycling Program. The phones that are not too old or damaged are cleaned and repaired. They are then sent overseas for reuse in developing countries. This helps to provide affordable access to telecommunications in countries that currently have little modern telecommunications infrastructure. All other mobile phones are sent to MRI for the components to be separated and recycled.
