Dux Hot Water has installed a 400L Electric Boosted Solar system at Ian Kiernan's historic farmhouse in Bathurst.
Located near Australia’s oldest inland settlement, Bathurst, Ian’s Westham Farmhouse is a rare surviving example of 1830 architecture. Meticulously restored over eight years, Westham combines unique features and state of the art technology to ensure minimal impact on the environment.
Dux donated the Electric Booster unit in recognition of the extraordinary work Ian does to raise awareness of how we can all reduce our impact by adopting clever and innovative technology to Clean Up our Climate.
In response, he praised the company, “A genuine Australian manufacturer with a long history, DUX has the most highly awarded range of environmental water heaters, so the system they have installed is a perfect addition to my historic farmhouse.”
Dux’s Electric boosted solar system will generate the majority of the farmhouse’s hot water needs through use of solar technology.
Westham won the 2006 Energy Australia National Trust Award for Best Conservation Project under $1 million and Ian continues to preserve the property by including modern technology and efficient products to further reduce his environmental footprint.
Ian said, “Environmentally friendly hot water systems, like solar and heat pumps, are not just for the green at heart anymore. Solar and heat pump water heaters have quickly become mainstream.
“Nothing is more Australian than sunshine, so it is no surprise that our climate is ideally suited to solar and heat pump water heaters. We have to learn how to live in our changing world by adopting more sustainable practices, and that’s exactly what we’re doing here,” he concluded .
