WHAT CAN I DO?

What can I do to help?

If you have old mobile phones lying around in your desks, cupboards and drawers, you can help the environment by returning them for re-use and recycling.

The phones are sent to our recycling partner Aussie Recycling Program (ARP) where functioning phones are sent overseas for use in developing countries, and non-functioning ones are fully recycled.

For every mobile phone returned through Clean Up Mobile Phones, a donation is given to Clean Up Australia to help fund our campaigns to clean up, fix up and conserve the environment. So by simply returning your unwanted phones you are making a significant contribution to the environment.

It's easy to return your old mobile phones to Clean Up Australia. Read on for more information.

Individual mobile phone return

If you just have a few mobile phones lying around that you would like to recycle, you can return them using a specially designed pre-paid envelope. Simply place your mobile phone, battery and charger in the satchel and it will be returned via Australia Post to our mobile phone recycling partner, Aussie Recycling Program (ARP).

Click here to register with the Clean Up Mobile Phones Campaign and we will send you everything you need to recycle your old mobile phones.

Organising a mobile phone collection

Organising a large collection of mobile phones is a great way to raise awareness of e-waste and environmental issues among staff or members of an organisation. It is also a simple and practical way for employees to contribute in a positive way to the environment.

You can encourage employees to bring their unwanted mobile phones from home in to recycle them and/or you can recycle outdated company mobiles. You can organise a collection over a set period of time, on one day only or have a collection box year round - it's up to you.

You can register as a Clean Up Mobile Phones Supporter, and for $110 inc. GST, we will provide you with:

1. Supporter Information Pack - including:
