Global warming is the increased heat trapped in the earth's atmosphere resulting from excess Greenhouse Gases such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and Methane (CH4). This has an unnatural warming effect on our fragile environment.
When we think of Climate Change we often think very simply about the weather, however Climate Change is far more complex and involves many different factors. Tasks that we do on a daily basis all affect the climate and it us up to us to start taking action and understanding exactly what we are doing wrong and what we can start doing right!
'Climate Change refers to a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.' - United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
The following three lesson plans aim to take a closer look at the effects of climate change and what your class can do to continue to preserve the environment. Climate Change is one of the biggest issues facing the world today.
