Kimberly-Clark Australia was one of the first companies in Australia to develop a Corporate Environmental Policy and is committed to ongoing corporate social responsibility.
The Clean Up Australia & Kimberly-Clark Partnership
Kimberly Clark have developed a number of initiatives for their staff to get involved with Clean Up Australia and other waste management campaigns that will run every quarter.
The first is the Clean Up Mobile Phones Campaign.
Kimberly Clark has developed a friendly competition, challenging their sites and branches to compete against one another to see who can collect and recycle the most mobile phones.
Staff are encouraged to promote their campaign as much as possible and have been given various marketing tools such as posters, PowerPoint presentations and fact sheets to rally support and contributions from fellow team members.
An animated "Mobi the Mobile" character has also been created for the company intranet site and pops up to remind staff to collect as many old mobile phones as they can in order to participate in the scheme.
This is a great way to encourage staff participation and the winning team will receive a prize each along with a special team prize - so far, they have collected 269 phones!
The whole campaign was also a great way to get staff actively involved in the company's Community Care program, taking it beyond corporate funding to a level where staff own, drive and participate in the program.
