Clean Up Australia Day TVC airs nationally today

Clean Up Australia Day 2011 TVC community service announcements go to air nationally from today encouraging Australians to do their bit for the nation’s largest community participation event.

Sleep well at night - three TVC’s created by DDB Sydney have taken a new approach to volunteer recruitment by focusing on how participation is rewarding, allowing volunteers to sleep well knowing they have done their bit for their community and local environment.

“The new adverts are a departure from a focus on the detrimental effects of rubbish in the environment. In 2011 we are appealing to people to share the rewards and personal satisfaction of their efforts. We want viewers to feel that cleaning up their local community and doing their bit for the environment will help them to rest well at night.

“Our central aim is to encourage Australians to join us for Clean Up Australia Day on 6 March. However,  many volunteers put in a full day of hard work, so this year we’re experimenting with some humour, focusing on the reward achieved for giving back to the environment ” said Ian Kiernan AO, Chairman of Clean Up Australia.

Clean Up Australia Day is one of Australia’s most successful community participation events spanning over 21 years. Much of its success stems from the fun community spirit which it embodies; engendering a sense of pride and satisfaction for volunteers when they can physically see the results of their efforts at the end of the day.

The adverts will be seen nationally and supported with radio, print advertisements and for the first time Facebook advertising.
