Rubbish Report 2007

The Clean Up Australia Day Event held in March 2007 was a huge success.

Over 8000 tonnes of was removed from our beaches, parks, streets, bushland areas and waterways by an estimated one million volunteers.

The most common rubbish items found were cigarette butts, glass pieces, chips and confectionary wrappers, and beverage containers.

Some of the more strange items included a parking meter, four wallets containing 30 credit cards, and a mannequin's leg!
