The Murray Community Clean Up was held in conjunction with Parks Victoria, on Sunday 31 May, 2009. The Clean Up sites were in Cobram, Echuca and Cohuna.
The results were:
Cobram - the site was shifted to Scott's Beach in Cobram rather than Horseshoe Lagoon Beach. The total collected was 8 cubic metres of rubbish - 5 of rubbish and 3 of recycling. The rubbish at this site varied, ranging from camping tables to windscreens and a campfire full of bottles and cans.
Echuca - 9 bags collected - 3 rubbish and 6 recyclable. Mostly cans and bottles but also some beach towels, chairs and a jar of pickled gherkins.
Cohuna - 19 bags of recycling and 10 bags of rubbish were found along the banks of the Gunbower Creek. Things found included an empty chemical drum almost in the water and panels of plastic shade material down the bank.
