COCA-COLA BOYCOTT

Coca-Cola Amatil to challenge NT's recycling scheme

In September Coca-Cola Amatil announced that they are planning to initiate court action against the Northern Territory government's introduction of a container deposit scheme. Clean Up Australia can’t believe that once again hunger for profit ignores what is beneficial for the environment. There are enough studies that show that a Container Deposit Scheme is not just good for the environment, it will also have positive effects on the economy and our community.

South Australia has proven that a 10cent deposit on drink containers increases recycling rates up the 87% versus a national average of 35%. What’s more it’s popular with the community.

So let’s show Coco Cola Amatil that Australians care about their environment and that we will not accept their disgraceful business behaviour. If all of us do just one of these three actions we will have an enormous power and influence:

  1. Boycott Coca Cola products.
  2. Collect Coca Cola products and post on Facebook
Go out and collect Coca Cola drink containers, take a picture, upload to Facebook and tag Coca-Cola Australia. Your photo will appear on their facebook page and help them understand the scale of the problem. Check the entire list of their products.
  3. Share the video "Coca Cola should know better".
