SURVEYED SITES
The 'Returned Valid Surveys by State' chart shows the number of valid Rubbish Report surveys received from each state, including both urban and rural areas. This year all states returned more surveys, with a total of 738 sites surveyed, compared to last year's 484 sites.
In line with previous years and reflecting increased campaign participation levels, NSW returned the most surveys with 265 valid returned surveys. Victoria followed in second place with 144 surveys and then Queensland with 122 surveys. This result is consistent with previous years.
Rural sites surveyed accounted for 44% of
returned surveys, with urban sites accounting for 56%. This
marks a turnaround from the trends of 2003 and 2004 when rural
areas returnined a larger proportion of the surveys.
