Look for products which have packaging with recycled content. There are several manufacturers who are using between 25 and 100% recycled plastic in bottles for cleaning and personal care products.
When buying soft drinks and juices, look for the brands using 100% recycled PET.
Many paper companies now sell 100% recycled copy paper. It is even better if this is carbon neutral and made in Australia.
Look for garden beds, garden and path edging, pegs and root barriers made from recycled soft plastics. When you need a new deck consider purchasing material made from recycled plastic rather than rainforest timber.
Insist on your carpet underlay having recycled content. And ask the retailer whether your old underlay and carpet will be recycled when they remove them. If you are buying a synthetic carpet make sure it has recycled content.
Activewear it is generally made of synthetic (plastic) material. Look for the companies who are using at least some recycled plastic and not all virgin plastic.
At least one Australian company is making frames from recycled plastic.
Look for cat litter made with 99% recycled paper.
