How to get Involved
As a Supporting Council there are several ways you can help your community Clean Up.

PROVIDE FREE WASTE COLLECTION
As a Supporting Council you can see which Clean Ups are happening in your local government area. You have the option to support our Event Supervisors with free pick up of rubbish bags after their Clean Ups. Some councils choose to give free rubbish drop-off by waiving tip-fees for Clean Up Australia events.

PROMOTE CLEAN UP AUSTRALIA CAMPAIGNS
We have a range of ready-made promotional materials to share in digital and in-person community channels to encourage people to get involved with our Clean Up campaigns.

HOST A COMMUNITY CLEAN UP
Clean Ups are a way for people to connect around a shared care for the places we live. You can host an event in your local area and help build community while looking after the environment. you can also register a Clean Up for council team and staff members.

ADD A LITTER HOTSPOT
Help your community have impact by registering the location of local areas that need cleaning up to our Litter Hotspot list.
REGISTERING A CLEAN UP
Host a Clean Up for your community. Register these as Community Clean Up events and remember to nominate and confirm someone as Event Supervisor who will be present on the day.
You can also register a Clean Up for your council team and staff members. We ask that these be registered as Business Clean Up events which have a $250 +GST registration fee that helps support communities and schools with free materials.

You’ll find everything you need including helpful tips for supporting your community, promoting Clean Up Australia campaigns, as well as planning your own Clean Up event.
CELEBRATING COUNCIL IMPACT
Every year, Clean Up Australia compiles a Council Report based on the data our volunteers collect across the different regions. It’s our way of celebrating our Supporting Council partners, tracking progress, and figuring out how we can do even better to keep Australia clean.
